A Man from the uttermost part of the city

This book is a biography of the German boxer Pierre Vogel, who is currently known as the German preacher Abu Hamza. He narrates in this book the story of his life and then his journey searching for a religion. He explains what made him leave Christianity and choose Islam, despite Islam being different from many of the foundations of the Western way of life. Celebrity, money, health, sports, friends and family, all of that was not enough for Pierre Vogel, as these questions kept bothering him: Where did we come from? What is our purpose here in this life? Where will we go? This book is the story of the personal experience of a young man who believes he has found convincing answers to these three profound questions. After finding these answers, he later transformed from a mere German convert to Islam to one of the most prominent symbols of Islamic Dawah in Germany. The book also provides you with a different image from the false stereotype presented by some Western media. It presents an image of a man who has lived and practised Islam for two decades and studied Shari’ah in Makkah, the sacred city of the Muslims and the place where the revelation descended, in addition to frequently visiting many Arab and Islamic countries. I ask the reader not to rush to judge the story from the beginning, and to allow himself the chance to reach the end of the book. In the conclusion of this introduction, I would like to point out that the opinions expressed in this book on Islam are divided into two groups: First group: Opinions agreed upon by all Muslims, such as believing in the Oneness of the Creator and the authenticity of the Qur’an, and so forth. Second group: Opinions in which the views of Muslim scholars differ, those which are open to discussion and dialogue and are not categorical. A person can only learn the difference between the two by studying Islam in depth from its sources.
